Very interesting

Here's an audio recording of Hilary Putnam and Alvin Plantinga, two of the greatest living philosophers, discussing the existence of God. I didn't realize that Putnam is Jewish. It's from ten years ago, but it was just put on YouTube a couple of days ago.

No posts on this blog for quite a while now. Best maybe to close it down?

Close the blog down? Is there not enough space on the internet anymore?

While it has been slow as of late, I don't know why you would scrap the whole thing. Personally, I enjoy going back and reading some of the older posts as there really is a wealth of info here on a variety of subjects.

I get tired of checking for new posts and never finding any.

Better to have a few important, historically/scientifically valid and well-written posts made slowly, then to have many nonsense rants and illogical posts made quickly.

Then use a reader that automatically informs you when a new post is made.

Oh alright then - i'll write something.

Compared to other blogs I read this has no focus, just a disconnected series of comments on anything that comes into the authors' minds. There is very little sin of any real expertise from any of the authors. So what's the point?

It works for Pharyngula, so why not here?

Well, that is the question worth asking. I am only an occasional visitor and becoming less so because there is seldom anything sharp and cutting edge. There is too much of a feeling of chums talking to each other without much thought of appealing to a wider defined audience. Just a view. Perhaps it doesn't worry the clerks.

"A wider audience"?

Hannam is getting invites to go all over the world and lecture on Medieval History, from pubs to universities and everything beyond and in between. This place and it's work is getting talked up by everyone along the political/religious spectrum. So, I'd say this place is doing quite well in appealing to a wide audience.

Personally, I don't see what you're complaining about.

Pond, thank you for your kind words although I suspect you overstate my influence.

Pay Anon no attention. We know who he is. And it is the case that I've been rather remiss in posting for a while. Real life intrudes.

Best wishes

James

Sorry, I replaced the video with the re-upload. And my apologies for not posting much in the last few months, I've been in the final throes of my dissertation and most of my writing efforts have been focused there.

The Blog description reads:

'The Latin word Quodlibeta means "whatever you like" and refers to the special occasions at medieval universities when the students (or clerks as they were known) could test their masters by asking any question they fancied.....like the medieval clerks, we reserve the right to post on anything we want..'
